Thanks are always in order at Maggie’s Place.
We are blessed with donations, volunteers, meals and love. Today, we celebrated that love and community at a luncheon provided by Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert. That’s right–the employees at Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert brought lunch to Maggie’s Place moms, staff and board members to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Happy Valentine’s Day to us!
Their staff prepared salad, steaks, chicken, rice and veggies to celebrate the holiday and all the love that encompasses Maggie’s Place and our mission. It’s an annual event held at The Hannah House in Mesa.
As always, babies and little ones were the stars of the show, although the food was fabulous as well. One little guy even wore his special red rain boots for the occasion.
The work of Dignity Health is closely aligned with Maggie’s Place. The Sisters of Mercy, the original founders of Dignity Health, vowed to help all people regardless of ethnicity, circumstances or education. They expanded, always focusing on the individual. In 1986, the Sisters joined their ten hospitals together and those hospitals became Catholic Healthcare West. In 2012, the name was changed to Dignity Health. Today, they are one of the largest healthcare systems in the nation.
This Valentines Day, the moms, staff and board of Maggie’s Place, were on the receiving end of their help and commitment. Many thanks.
