Maggie’s Place is excited to announce Laura Magruder as the new Maggie’s Place Executive Director. Magruder was selected after a several-month search, and came to Maggie’s Place from Communities in Schools of Arizona where she served as Executive Director and State Director.
Magruder brings over 20 years of diversified experience serving in leadership capacities in the private, nonprofit and government sectors, including addressing social issues surrounding child advocacy, education reform and foster care. Magruder’s focus on collaboration and outreach, as well as her strong devotion to helping her community’s women and children break the cycle of poverty toward more productive lives, make her an excellent choice to lead Maggie’s Place into its next era of service and growth.
“It is an honor to join the Maggie’s Place family. The work done here is so very important, I just hope I can do it justice,” Magruder shared.
Magruder replaces former Executive Director and Co-Founder Mary Peterson, who led the organization for 13 years from its inception in 2000.
Please join us in welcoming Laura Magruder to the Maggie’s Place family, and please feel free to stop in to meet her if you are in the Phoenix area.
