All across the state today, it’s Arizona Gives Day. It’s a day when people all over Arizona are asked to take a closer look at nonprofits and donate to them. Since its inception in 2013, the 24-hour long event has raised 10.1 million for Arizona’s nonprofit sector.
We at Maggie’s Place are proud to participate in this annual day of giving. And the event makes it so easy. You can make a donation to Maggie’s Place here.
Funds raised go directly to the designated nonprofit and they, in turn, can use donations wherever their need is the greatest. At Maggie’s Place that would be serving our moms and babies. Perhaps it’s a specific need in a house or a request for a mom or little one.
The giving day is a joint venture between the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits and the Arizona Grantmakers Forum. The goal is to help people “find, learn about and contribute to the causes they believe in while enabling nonprofits to share their stories and engage the community through a unique online giving platform. Arizona Gives Day helps raise awareness about Arizona nonprofits and the critical role they play in our communities and state. It inspires people to give generously to nonprofits making our state stronger, creating a thriving community for all.”
Although the annual April donation day happens only once a year, the site is available for year-round giving. You can set up a recurring donation and preschedule giving. Did you know that Arizona nonprofits have an economic impact of 22.4 billion dollars, more than eight percent of the state’s gross product? They also provide more than 300,000 jobs.
The Arizona Gives group says, “Arizona Gives is focused on helping participating nonprofits raise funds that are critical to supporting their work. By donating you simultaneously invest in the future of Arizona and help nonprofits make an impact in your community.”
We are happy to be a part of this important fundraiser and thank you in advance for your continued support of Maggie’s Place moms and babies.
