Join the AmeriCorps Team

We are looking primarily for full time live-in AmeriCorps members with live-out positions available on a case-by-case basis.

Due to the live-in nature of the work, this is a female-only position.

AmeriCorps members spend a year or summer living with pregnant and parenting women formerly experiencing homelessness who are now housed in a loving, caring environment at Maggie’s Place in Phoenix, Arizona.

Using a trauma-informed care approach, AmeriCorps members are on the front lines of the fight to overcome Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and break the relentless cycle of poverty. AmeriCorps members live and work in one of our five Maggie’s Place homes, managing the day-to-day needs of the house and fostering a safe and welcoming home environment.

What AmeriCorps Are Saying

“In my role as an AmeriCorps, the commitment I’ve made to grow in community through radical accompaniment fundamentally affirmed my passion for maternal health. In my year of service, I have walked alongside women in their birthing journeys, fostered wellness, and upheld caring for the whole person. This calling has served as a bridge towards my life’s purpose.”

Ingrid Gomez

2024 - 2025 AmeriCorps, Serves at The Michael House

“I had the honor of supporting two moms through labor and delivery. While it was overwhelming to witness someone endure so much pain and not be able to take it away, I felt prepared to show up & support because that’s we do every day as AmeriCorps at Maggie’s Place. Getting to experience such miraculous, painful, and life-changing moments together taught me the power of community that I never want to let go of.”

Maggy Hovden

2022-2023 AmeriCorps, Served at The Michael House

“My time as an Americorps member at Maggie’s Place taught me how joy, pain, and hope can coexist, and the value of being present enough to witness it. This role challenged me in ways I could have never imagined, but also allowed me the opportunity to be there for people during a time in their lives where interpersonal support is vital.”
