The big one is coming. Behind the scenes preparations are ongoing. Food is being chosen. Wineries are being searched out. The gorgeous venue is all set. All we need now is you.
The annual Miracle of Motherhood Event is in full on plan attack at The Fiat Resource Center. What’s the Miracle of Motherhood you say? It’s Maggie’s Place biggest fundraiser. It’s the one that changes lives for our moms and babies. That’s why it’s the Miracle of Motherhood. It’s motherhood that we’re celebrating. The event is dubbed Corks & Forks and it’s a Wine Tasting paired with some of the Valley’s most interesting, and yummy, food.
Pa’La, of Phoenix, is providing the bites and tastes that pair with our four wineries fare. It is a mingling not just of fine wine and food but fine company for an extraordinary cause. Yes, we wine and dine you for our moms and babies and the work that’s done at Maggie’s Place.
Where will that money go? It will support houses and apartments. It will pay for gas in the cars that carry moms to the hospital to give birth. It will pay for feeding those news little ones, and diapering them and washing their bottles and providing clothes and parenting classes and employment coaching and maternity clothes and paper towels and personal items and needs we’ve yet to know of but will provide. Money raised goes to all it takes to bring a new baby and mom into the world. Fundraising at Maggie’s Place is being part of the village it takes to raise all our children. And they are all our children.
Corks & Forks is just one fun way to do it. It’s Friday, May 4 at Windgate Ranch in Scottsdale–same place as last year. There will be wine, food, silent auction items (yes, if you got one please call), a wine pull and the heart of people who support Maggie’s Place. You’ll be able to buy your tickets, and tickets for your friends, next week. Watch for your invitation–and feel free to send it on.
