How has your life positively changed since you began your time at Maggie’s Place? I learned valuable life lessons about self- improvement, forgiveness, and that God has planned for me to do compassionate, caring work. Each person I met during my time at Maggie’s Place had a wonderful impact on my life. I learned something from each staff member and mother while I was there. If I hadn’t gone through that struggle in my life I wouldn’t be as strong as I am today! Maggie’s Place made a hard situation easier.

What inspired you to begin your current academic program? My goals in school and life are not just mine. I am determined to make the best life possible for my children. They saved my life and now I am going to repay the favor. Every experience good and bad, I believe, we can learn from. So, I know that if I keep learning and working hard at my goals I will accomplish them. I believe for every obstacle there is a solution; we just have to find the answer with hard work, creativity, and determination.

What inspired you to begin your current academic program? My inspiration is my dreams. When I dream I dream of being an independent woman who doesn’t ask anybody for help. I dream of being wealthy spiritually, physically, and financially. I dream of giving my son everything he needs and deserves. I dream of being able to pay for my son to be in a good school and take fun educational trips, and for him to never have to go a day without a meal. I dream of my son telling me he looks up to me and telling me he loves me for who I am. I dream of being that great employee that everybody loves to work with.

What inspired you to begin your current academic program? My son first inspired me to start in 2007. Now that I also have a daughter and I am a single mother of two children, they have both inspired me to finish my degree. I am doing this to better not only my life, but my children’s lives and their futures. I want to be able to always care for my children on my own and live a comfortable life.

How has your life positively changed since you began your time at Maggie’s Place?
My life positively changed since I began my time at Maggie’s Place. I was going through a rough time in my life with no support and feeling low. I went to Maggie’s Place to find that support and get a better perspective of things. Then, I finally realized that I am capable of anything when I put my mind to it.
What that said, being a mother of twin girls is no easy task; however, I have managed to push forward. I believe if I stay focus and take that leap of faith, I will be able to achieve my dreams. Also, I want to show my daughters if “”mama,”” can do it, then the world is at their little finger tips.
